Obituary for Gerald Titus Davis

Dr. Gerald Titus Davis - age 85 of Loudon passed away Friday, November 17, 2017. He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, King College and the University of Tennessee where he received is PhD in Chemistry. Dr. Davis retired as Director from Mead Central Research in Ohio. After retirement, he and his high school sweetheart returned to their home of East Tennessee, which he often referred to as “God’s Country”. Dr. Davis was a sweet, soft spoken man who enjoyed his family and loved them completely.
He is preceded in death by parents, Paul and Maxine (Bevins) Davis; brother, Paul Davis, Jr. and granddaughters, Amy Nicole Price and Amanda JoAnn Davis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Joanne Cloud Davis; daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Jeff Price, Loudon; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Kathy Davis, Chillicothe, Ohio; grandchildren, Katie Price, Chris and wife, Kelly Price, Knoxville; Jeff and wife, Autumn Davis, Chillicothe, Ohio; great grandchildren, Duncan Price, Bryce, Madison, Kennedy, Garrett, Braxton and Liam Davis; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and William “Wig” Lowe; aunt, Edna Arnold; several nieces, nephews and beloved dog Annie.
A service to celebrate the life of Dr. Gerald Davis will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 21st in the McGill Click Chapel. Contributions in memory of Dr. Davis may be made to Smoky Mountain Service Dogs, 8376 Fairview Road, Lenoir City, Tennessee 37772.
The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Highway 72 North, Loudon.
