Obituary for James E. Berry, Sr.

James Edward Berry, Sr. age 87 of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, August 3rd, 2018 at Parkwest Hospital. Born to the late Charles and Roxie (Alexander) Berry, one of 5 children, Mr. Berry spent many years working in the construction industry as a carpenter, retiring from the W.F. Holt Construction Co. in Nashville. After retirement he returned to the Loudon Co. area and enjoyed working for the Mid-East Action Agency in the Meals on Wheels program. Mr. Berry was a member of Vaughn Chapel Baptist Church and served a 4 year stint in the Army National Guard. Including his parents, Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his precious wife, Jeanette (White) Berry (1996), his grandson, Kevin Berry (1977) and 4 siblings. He is survived by his two sons and daughters in-law, James E. “Jimmy” Berry Jr. and Jeannie of Loudon, Charles Luther “Larry” Berry and Teresa of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Michael Edward Berry, Matthew Chad Berry, April Dawn Berry, Amanda Sue Berry, Charles L. Berry, Jr. “C.J.” and Monica Berry Bolden; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services honoring and remembering Mr. Berry will be held 8:00 PM Sunday, August 5th, McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Randy Leming officiating. Interment 12:00 Noon Monday in New Steekee Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Hwy 72, N. Loudon. www.mcgillclick.com
