Obituary for Juan (John) Rivera

Juan Rivera died Tuesday, August 22nd at 3:48 AM following his four-year battle of Cancer at The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

He is survived by his wife Angie Rivera of 23 years, his 4 children and 4 sisters. Juan was a native Puerto Rican raised in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Juan and Eva Rodriquez Rivera and has been a resident of Loudon for the past year. He is also known to others as Johnny or John.

Johnny was a man of God and firm believer of his Christian faith. He spent many years studying the bible and building a strong connection with God. Through this practice he developed the strength, courage, and will to support his wife, propel his battle with cancer, and inspire others through his demonstration of faith and fellowship with others. His love for God, his wife and others was unparalleled and will remain embedded in the hearts of his family and friends.

Johnny lived an active life and was an avid guitarist. His passion for this instrument allowed him to connect with the Lord in the form of praise and develop relationships with others within his church, New Providence Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held 7 PM Friday, August 25th in the McGill Click Chapel with Minister Tony Arnold and Music Minister Mitch Webster officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM prior to the service at McGill Click Funerals and Cremations, 1366 Highway 72 N, Loudon, Tennessee.
